Spring Cleaning should be behind you (we’d like to think anyways). Is your home looking a little empty? Maybe it’s time for a makeover in regards to the furniture around your place, or maybe you just need new furniture in general. We wanted to hit on a few sites we find to be great places to shop and pick out entire rooms full of furnishing.
This list is isolated to online shopping and the perks that come with doing so. In the new era, online shopping has been the trend, and honestly, the norm. Furniture is no exception to this, so let’s get right into it!
Amazon
Wayfair
Ikea
Joybird Furniture
1. Amazon
First on our list is the all true, and well known, Amazon. Most of us know this powerhouse of a website for online shopping. Imagine a store that has basically everything, so furniture is no exception! If you’re looking for something quick without much wait or expense, Amazon should always be your number one option. Furniture is something we typically suggest putting more research into materials and specifications, but Amazon creates the convenience and speed some prefer. The downside to their broad range of products is it makes it a tad difficult to find what you’re looking for in terms of couches or a night stand compared to strictly furniture based sites.
2. Wayfair
Imagine Amazon, but just for furniture, this is Wayfair! Their site is unique to furnishings and a very broad array of items and brands to choose from. Although they have items found on other stores, they do carry unique brands as well as their own brand Birch Lane. If you don’t really have a specific budget wayfair is great, as they have items of all prices for every consumer budget. They also offer great shipping options with one to two day shipping. Wayfair has also figured in a clean way to read reviews as well as track items that may be out of stock when you go to purchase them, this way you can be notified when they restock.
3. Ikea
This is a personal favorite of mine, nonetheless I will speak transparently about this site. Ikea is a great site for those who like to be hands on. Ikea offers furniture at very cheap pricing, and it isn’t due to lack of quality but more so lack of the furniture being in one piece at your doorstep when delivered. Ikea saves costs by cutting out the middleman, so you have to build what you buy. Sometimes this is smooth sailing, and other times, well it’s a hurricane. If you prefer to not build it yourself there’s an option to have someone build it for you at an expense. Shipping on items caps at $59, which for heavy lifting and big carriers, doesn’t seem unreasonable to us.
3. Joybird Furniture
Looking for the new name on the street? Joybird is the choice for you then, they really know how to hit on minimalism and modern furniture, and they’ve only been around since 2014. They kept their pricing low for us but cutting out the middle men and dropping storefront options, so they are strict to ship only. The cool thing about Joybird is their options to get swatch samples before you order anything. Unsure of a color option and how well it will match your walls or floor? Joybird’s sample option is a hero in these tough situations we all run into with online shopping. Most shipping unfortunately takes around 3 weeks in comparison to the others we listed above, but they do have a quick ship option on some items, to get them to your door within 3 days time.
We know there are plenty of other options in terms of online furniture shopping, but we figure this to a good list to start with for anyone looking to furnish their homes. These are our personal favorites here at Tyler and we have a little experience using these sites to order furnishing for home projects we receive. At the end of the day it’s up to you, and we wish you the best experience wherever you shop!
